New Organization of Kalenborn
Kalenborn International GmbH & Co. KG takes over leadership
Kalenborn, the well-known wear protection company headquartered
in Vettelschoss, Germany announces that as of April 1, 2008 it has
reorganized under the new name of Kalenborn International GmbH & Co.
KG. This company takes over the leading function for a total of 12
affiliated companies.
A new company has been formed, Kalenborn Kalprotect GmbH & Co. KG,
to be responsible for handling the operative business from the
Vettelschoss location.
This group of companies, with a global
reach, offers tailor-made wear protection solutions from
consultation, planning and production to design and installation
on-site based on a wide array of materials.
The company has experienced dynamic growth
during the last 10 years, expanding a sales volume of approximately
€ 15 million and 3 associated companies to a business with
consolidated sales of more than € 40 million and 12 associated
companies. The number of people on the payroll worldwide is about
500 in 2008.
The core elements of success have been the
production of wear protection materials in own shops as well as the
complete offer of services from one source.
These wear protection materials consist of
specialized minerals, ceramics and metallics. In addition, the
worldwide system of own companies and agencies has proven extremely
efficient.
The company expects to continue the growth
with a target figure for sales of € 50 million by 2010. To reach
this goal the partners and the management of the company considered
it imperative to adapt the organizational structure to the
requirements of the future. The outcome of these considerations has
been the establishment of the holding structure which combines the
companies Kalenborn International and Kalenborn Kalprotect at the
Vettelschoss headquarters.
The managers of Kalenborn International
will be Dr. Conrad Mauritz, Michael W. Rokitta and Dietmar Tremmer.
The operative company Kalenborn Kalprotect will be managed by
Michael W. Rokitta and Dietmar Tremmer.
While Kalenborn International will
continue business under the legal description of the former company,
Kalenborn Kalprotect is a new company with a new turnover tax ident
number (DE 258455853) and a new commercial register number (HRA
20541).

Dr. Conrad Mauritz – Managing Director of Kalenborn Kalprotect
Dr. Conrad Mauritz, holder of a degree in commerce, has been
appointed Managing Director of Kalenborn Kalprotect in
Vettelschoss/Germany next to Michael W. Rokitta, dipl. engineer and
holder of a degree in commerce and Dietmar Tremmer, dipl. engineer.
Dr. Mauritz is the third generation of the founder’s family to
assume responsibility for the company. He is the grandson of the
company’s founder Dr. Kurt Mauritz and nephew of Wonter Mauritz who
was a Managing Director for many years.
Dr. Mauritz, 41, is married and has three sons. His education
includes studies of economics and business management in Munich,
Paris, Oxford and Berlin. In 1997 he earned a doctor’s degree at the
University of the German Federal Armed Forces in Munich on the
subject “Market economy in business enterprises – a principle for
securing long-term competitiveness”.
Since 1997 Dr. Mauritz has been working for internationally active
German companies. He started his career in 1997 at Messrs.
Freudenberg in Weinheim/Germany as the head of strategic development
for a particular group of products. Starting in 2001 he was working
as the General Manager of Sales and Marketing for a subsidiary of
Freudenberg in Italy. More recently he was the managing director of
Junkers + Müllers in Mönchengladbach/Germany.
With the appointment of Dr. Mauritz Kalenborn Kalprotect gains an
industrial manager experienced in international business who – apart
from his mother tongue – fluently masters English, Italian and
French.
Kalenborn Kalprotect are known as “The Wear Protection People”. The
company’s goal is to offer the complete range of ceramic, mineral
and metallic wear protection materials on markets all over the world.
These activities include the supply of products as well as the
complete installation of the materials and system solutions. Based
on these efforts Kalenborn Kalprotect consider themselves a
comprehensive service provider for wear protection solutions.
This understanding is emphasized by the worldwide expansion of the
company. The headquarters are in Vettelschoss, with 11 subsidiaries
and affiliated companies in Europe, the US and Asia. There are plans
to systematically extend the company’s activities. The commitment of
Dr. Mauritz to become an active Managing Director of Kalenborn
Kalprotect beyond his activities as partner of the company means a
distinct strengthening of the organization and underlines his
intention as principal partner to continue the course followed by
Kalenborn Kalprotect in the future.
